Dr. Phillip E. Silva, MD, MPH, CMD
Dr. Phillip Silva is a board-certified geriatrician (2013 - American Board of Family Medicine), certified medical director (2016 - American Board of Post-Acute and Long Term Care Medicine), and an associate professor/clinical educator at the University of Texas Southwestern medical school focusing on palliative care, geriatrics, and complex care. He graduated in 2010 with a medical doctorate and master’s degree in public health from St. George’s University in Grenada before completing his residency in family medicine and fellowship in geriatrics at UTSW in 2014.
He has over 10 years experience in providing quality, hands-on, patient and family-centered care across the DFW metroplex in a healthy number of skilled nursing facilities. In addition, he serves as director of a hospice with patients in the same area. He co-authored a publication on elder abuse in 2014. He had undergraduate research published in 2011 on the effects of warming waters with less available oxygen to native fish. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
